World Premiere in Bünde: Where Brilliance Meets Perfect Automation
A technological quantum leap is on the horizon: On March 26 and 27, 2026, the East Westphalian city of Bünde will become the epicenter of the international label industry. As part of the “Innovation Days Germany – On Tour,” the industry pioneers Xeikon, Leonard Kurz Stiftung and Mail Druck + Medien will present a world first that redefines what is possible: a unique, fully automated process for enhancing roll-fed self-adhesive labels using transfer metallization.
Breaking Free from Tool Dependency
What once required long lead times, expensive embossing tools, and complex dies can now be realized in a single, seamless process. This collaboration combines state-of-the-art digital workflows with a revolutionary metallization unit. The result? High-gloss metallic effects with absolute precision and perfect registration — achieved without conventional printing plates or cutting dies, while offering maximum flexibility from short runs to mass production.
Live Experience: The Future Up Close
Visitors are given the rare opportunity to look behind the scenes of a real production environment and witness a live demonstration of this technological breakthrough. The goal is to showcase how highly automated processes function in everyday operations and how digital embellishment is setting new standards.
Sustainability meets High-Tech
In addition to its visual brilliance, the new process sets benchmarks in environmental performance. By eliminating physical tools and optimizing material usage, waste is drastically reduced and valuable resources are conserved. Furthermore, both the inks and the metallization are deinkable, ensuring that printed products remain recyclable.
Stefan Mail, CEO of Mail Druck + Medien, emphasizes:
“We believe in the power of innovation, which enables us as a medium-sized company to set benchmarks on a global scale.”
